The circulation of your blood is vital to life but if that blood is full of toxins it can also be a cause of pain. In fact, many forms of pain, illness and disease can be linked to, or are caused by toxic blood.
In certain states the blood can actually harm the body. These include states of excesses (too many toxins), stagnations (trigger points), and deficiencies (low oxygen levels).
The following list of common problems related to the quality of blood shows how many different issues are related to it.
- heart disease
- iron deficiency
- back pain
Pain is one of the main reasons why people visit their GP and is responsible for the billion-pound non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) industry. Drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.
There are many causes of pain including injury, tight or pulled muscles, a sedentary lifestyle, inflammation, acid/alkaline imbalance, trigger points and stress. All of these affect the quality and motility of blood and can be caused by toxic blood.
Blood is an essential body fluid that serves two purposes. It rejuvenates cells by bringing to them substances like oxygen and nutrients and it cleans cells by carrying away their toxic waste products. With bad diet, lack of water, stress, high acid levels, trauma or disease, the blood’s role in maintaining homeostasis is hindered, and pain, including back pain, is the result.
Healthy food is so important for the blood. Blood plasma is a liquid component of blood that contains sugars, proteins, minerals and other substances. A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and high in whole grains will help to provide good nutrients to build blood. But blood also needs soluble fibre to clean it and insoluble fibre to remove toxins from the body through the stools. A nutrient deficient diet can cause toxic blood which then can cause back pain.
Water is also an important component of healthy blood because plasma, which is 90 percent water by volume, actually comprises 55 percent of the blood fluid. Drinking plenty of fluids is a holistic way of relieving and preventing back pain.
But not all fluids are good. Coffee, tea, energy drinks and sodas are full of caffeine, sugars and chemicals that not only act as diuretics, therefore removing fluids from the blood but are also high in toxins. These toxins cause inflammation and acidity.
Maintaining a proper acid/alkaline balance in the blood is essential to prevent inflammation and pain. When blood acid levels are too high, muscle contractions and spasms can occur causing a limited range of movement and pressure on the nerves. It also prevents fresh blood, oxygen and nutrients entering the tissue and the efficient removal of carbon dioxide and other toxic substance from it. All of this causes pain.
If blood alkaline is raised and acid reduced, then the muscles relax. This allows for pain relief through the proper absorption of nutrients and transportation of waste products from the blood and tissues. Maintaining a blood pH of 7.4 is essential for pain-free living.
The negative effects of stress, also leads to pain. Stress constricts the muscles, lowers the amount of oxygen and increases acidity levels in the blood and tissues in the body. Deep breathing relaxation techniques not only reduce stress levels but also control pH. Stress causes shallow breathing and limited respiration, leading to pain. Deep breathing exercises reverse this process.
For chronic pain, Drs will often suggest over-the-counter NSAIDs for temporary relief, but these actually cause more long-term harm than short-term good. NSAIDs leave toxins in the blood, can cause intestinal bleeding and are harmful to those suffering high blood pressure and kidney disease. Other painkillers, can be harmful to the liver and kidneys, and they do not reduce inflammation. Some good reasons to avoid taking them. However there are some wonderful natural anti-inflammatories that do not leave toxins in the blood, infact they remove toxins, and they do not cause bleeding. Serrapeptase from the silk worm has had some great results and helped many people with their pain.
So what can be done to correct toxic blood in those suffering pain?
The answer is to eat a good diet, drink plenty of water, 1-2 litres a day, breathe deeply for stress relief and oxygenation of blood, and exercise regularly to stimulate blood flow and remove toxins. Physiotherapy, and massage can help to give pain relief and mobilise the muscles, nerves and joints. Yoga, and meditation can also be helpful.
Keep your blood clean and help it to move easily in all the tissues so that you prevent back problems and remain pain free.
