It goes without saying that water is a vital component to our bodies not just our skin.
One of the pieces of advice I continually give is to ensure that my clients are getting their daily quota of water intake.
This is advice that isn’t faddy, radical or the latest scientific research but it is so important & can be detrimental to the health of our skin.
I am sometimes met with a groan at the suggestion that we need to take on board 1 1/2 to 2 litres of water per day & have to confess that drinking water doesn’t ‘excite’ me but I think of it as a form of medicine that my body & my skin needs to function properly.
Dry skin, spotty outbreaks, sensitivity & even oily skin can all be as a result of a lack of hydration.
But fear not! You don’t have to line up your bottles of mineral water as your daily quota can be made up from other sources too.
Consider if you have any of the following in your daily diet & give yourself a pat on the back for any that you can tick off & take off your water intake:
– fresh fruit &/or vegetable juices
– Green, White, Herbal or Fruit teas
– Fruit & Veg especially Spinach, Melon, Apricots & Cucumbers. These are high in water & packed with anti ageing Vitamins too.
