What is it?

We will check your blood pressure, your cholesterol and the age of your arteries. A test for Homocysteine can also be incorporated for an additional cost. Homocysteine is an amino acid that in high quantities can damage your arterial wall and is often the cause of high cholesterol.

How does it work?

To test the age of your arteries we use the Cardio Check, a device that clips onto the fingertip and fires an infrared beam into the blood vessels of the finger to compare the main pulse with the reflected pulse. It measures arterial stiffness and vascular tone. That measurement, plus your blood pressure and cholesterol, will give us an indication of any cardio vascular disease risks.

We will then advise you on diet, supplements and how to keep a healthy lifestyle.
